Continued planning for the Fall Fly-in:
We will prepare and send out post cards
Jesse will notify other chapters to spread the word and participate.
Flyer will be posted to the web site – all should feel free to print and distribute.
Dan will coordinate Young Eagles rides during the fly-in.
Gene Baker is again able to prepare our BBQ. We will let him know we want him to cook the bbq for the event again this year.
Carl Knuth presented a technical review of differential compression testing.
Remember to check the technical specifications and / or operator's manual for your specific application. And if you have a certificated engine you may need your A&P to do this particular task.
Carl also covered setting the tension on the alternator "fan belt" for most common engines.
He also covered checking for valve guide wear. This is a required check every 300 hours if old guide material or half-engine life for guides of modern materials (indicated by a "C" stamped in the cylinder head).
We then spent the rest of the morning in the hanger for a practical demonstration.
Adjourned another great meeting.
